26 ft Gaff Cutter, Design #116, under Construction in Norway

Rune's boat is of fully glued construction. The pictures show the procedure used and the quality of the work.

Laminated frames are prefabricated on the loft floor. Some of these are stacked against the wall as the backbone assembly is being laminated.

Laminating the backbone for Design #116
The hull is built upside down. The frames are set up first, then the backboneis lowered into place and the whole assembly is faired for planking. Note that no temporary molds or jigwork are required.
Shaping the stem
Planking consists of three layers. Here the first layer of strip planking is being fastened to the framework. This will be followed by two layers of cold molded veneer for stability.
